With the help of my dad as I’m off at school my Alfa officially found a buyer(actually about a week ago, but I didn’t bother to post). Bringing a car back from death was a great learning experience. With many more hours and dollars it could’ve made a lovely daily but my dad wanted his garage back and 3 cars was just too many at the age of 21, especially with my current situation of home in Oregon, school in Pennsylvania and, as a senior, absolutely no idea where I may end up next year. Between the 4Runner that’s actually on the same side of the country as me, the pristine E36 Compact and the ratty Alfa, the Alfa had to be the one to go.

That car did hook me on Alfas, and as soon as I have the money and space for a third car I will be in search of a GTV6. Nothing this side of exotic can quite match the sound of that Busso V6.

Ever since their release, I loooooved the 164. Such perfect lines! I’m sure you were sad to see her go.

as an also former 164 owner... i feel your pain. that engine made up for everything else. and frankly it was a pretty damn good FWD sport sedan on the whole.

Kudos for nursing it back to health and releasing it back into the wilds where it belongs.

I was having some buyers regret after my first week of ownership. Then she fired and all that went out the window.

I find that straight on front and back are a bit meh tbh but they got the side profile so, so right.

Not totally back to health, but I towed her home and the new owner drove her home. She was purchased by a recently graduated mechanical engineer so I would say she passed to good hands to continue in the right direction.

A Busso V6 is a marvelous thing... I like the 12v versions sound better than the 24v too, and I think the longer exhaust of the 164 makes it the most rumble-tastic of all the applications without muting the 5500+ RPM wail. Such a characterful mill... And a solid engine. Most reliable part of any Busso-engined Alfa..

Perfect. Nothing like an Alfa to put that degree to the test.
